The cycle path is the Riviera dei Fiori’s crown jewel, and we are particularly proud of it. Built on the old railway track, it’s the ideal place for taking a stroll and doing outdoor sports all year round, thanks to the mild climate.
Numerous stands and places to rent bikes or rickshaws are located at various points along the route.
A tribute to the Milano – Sanremo, the most famous cycling race in Italy, couldn’t be missing: an open-air museum has been set up in the tunnel that connects Sanremo to Ospedaletti. It is dedicated to the race’s history and its most important moments.
The route was inaugurated by Eddy Merckx, who holds the record of most race wins, seven.
For lovers of mountain biking, enduro and downhill, Sanremo’s hinterland is a real paradise… within reach of the wheel. The heights of Sanremo, in particular the woods of the hamlets of San Romolo and Monte Bignone, are popular among bikers of all ages who find in the many paths immersed in the green the ideal place to freely devote themselves to their descents overlooking the sea. The beauty and variety of the trails has made San Romolo highly appreciated by many sportsmen and women, including professionals, who often choose our hinterland for training and testing their equipment in preparation for official competitions.
If you are a mountain bike enthusiast and like to measure yourself against bumps and parabolics, our pump track is just the thing for you. Located in Pian di Poma, it is an 800-metre-long circuit consisting of a flat track for hand bikes and one with parabolics and bumps for mountain bikes.
Only in a city like Sanremo, sunkissed and with a mild climate, you can enjoy sailing all year round. The sailing company Yacht Club Sanremo is only a few steps away from the old port, the beating heart for lovers of the sea and sport. The club has a glorious history and was established at the beginning of the last century, when the first regattas were organised in Sanremo’s sea. Over the years, the sailing school students have won numerous podiums in national and international competitions. The Club hosts now important regattas that attract athletes and fans of this great sport from all over the world.
Just a few steps from Porto Sole, you will find the Italian Naval League – Sanremo Section, active since 1986, offering a different yet complementary approach to the sea. Here, children, teenagers, adults, and people with disabilities can participate in sailing and canoeing courses at a recreational and amateur level, without any competitive goals. The club welcomes both Sanremo residents and tourists, who can use the boats provided. Additionally, during the summer, snorkeling trips are organized, offering a unique opportunity to explore the underwater wonders of our coast.

There is a lot of willpower behind rowing, one of the most popular sports in Sanremo. Thanks to the mild climate, athletes can practice it all year round. Many are the promising young athletes that can be watch every day while training near the old port. Right there, the historical club Canottieri Sanremo, active since 1933, is located.
Did you know that Sanremo is home to a community of surfers? Being able to surf often throughout the year is what attracts the lovers of this adrenaline sport. Their favourite place is obviously the Tre Ponti area, where you can often watch the “rulers of the waves“.
Horse riding is better if you do it in Sanremo! The Sanremo equestrian field is an important sporting reality and a reference point for horse lovers. Inaugurated in 1930 in the presence of King Vittorio Emanuele III, it is the oldest and most prestigious sports club in the city of flowers. Every year, important national and international competitions are held on its grounds, making it a real jewel in the city’s crown.
It was the first of December 1931 when two English gentlemen challenged each other in what would go down in history as the first golf match played on the future Sanremo’s Ulivi Golf Club, which was officially inaugurated only a few months later. Located in the countryside, the Club is an institution for golf lovers who can find in San Remo the ideal climate to play all year round. Numerous important international and national competitions take place on its 18 holes.
